In October 2018 Areas Access Areas and a group of young people visited Bendrigg lodge in the Lake District to take part in a range of activities.
This was an opportunity to celebrate success of the project and to say thank you to young people, parents and carers who supported the project as it reached its scheduled end.
During the day the young people took part in a range of activities including an obstacle course, Rock climbing, Abseiling and Raft building. During the activities young people used and developed a range of skills including teamwork, communication, problem solving and some overcame their fears.
We all had a brilliant day and a big thanks must go to the Bendrigg Lodge staff who were fantastic.
Importantly, the young people deemed Bendrigg Lodge to be a fully accessible facility for young people with learning difficulties and would recommend it to family and friends.
Thank you to everyone who supported the Access All Areas project.
