I joined People First in 2007 working as the Youth Advocate on the Young People First Project. I then moved onto working as Independent Advocate in 2010 supporting individuals to ensure there voice is heard and their wishes taken into consideration. I support individuals to access appropriate services and challenge decision where appropriate.
I took on my dual role as Independent Advocate and Independent Mental Capacity advocate in October 2014. This role supports individuals who lack capacity to make certain decisions in their life to still have their wishes and feelings heard. It also ensure that the professionals are working within the perimeters of the Mental Capacity Act 2005.
